Medior AI Engineer / Developer (Full-Stack)

The Role

As a Medior AI Engineer/Developer, you’ll turn prototypes and early-stage concepts into working, testable, and maintainable software. You’ll be responsible for the technical delivery of cross-platform applications involving AI/ML components on backend/server systems (cloud, Windows, or Linux) and frontend UIs (Windows/Mac/Linux desktop, iOS/Android, or web). We expect you to take initiative, work clean, and bring energy.

What You Bring

• 3–6 years of relevant development experience (yes, PhD/postdoc years count)
• Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, algorithms, and basic architecture
• Fluent in English and/or Dutch
• You know what you're doing, document your code, and don’t freeze when a server coughs

AI & ML

• Experience with Python ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow)
• Familiar with local and cloud-based models: text (LLMs), image/video (stable diffusion), and audio (TTS)
• Understand RAG and vector-database integration
• Skilled in working with structured/unstructured data, embeddings in the context of neural networks, and model input/output
• Comfortable with API- and pipeline-based model usage

Nice-to-have: Experience in AI-related skills such as statistical methods, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and the ability to visualize data and results using dashboards and/or interactive visualizations.

Backend Development

• Strong in Python development and FastAPI/Flask usage
• Familiar with cloud-based platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS
• Familiar with containerization solutions such as Docker
• Writes clean, modular, and well-documented code (code that others don’t cry over later)

Frontend and Cross-platform UI/UX

• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React
• Experience with building UIs for web, desktop, and/or mobile platforms
• Able to connect frontend and backend cleanly and efficiently through APIs
